In open-plan, focal or shared spaces, the main function of the ceiling is to absorb sound that would normally reflect off the ceiling and travel to a nearby space or compartment, and to block sound from mechanical components in the plenum.
With the ideal combination of sound absorption and sound blocking, acoustic office ceiling tiles are flexible to provide the right balance, even when employees are concentrating one minute and collaborating the next. In open plenum environments, where noise control can be a greater challenge, consider strategically placed acoustic clouds and canopies to control sound.
